Ultra, ATHLETE, Lululemon & Crazy

Posted in Uncategorized on March 20, 2010 by Kel

I am alive! It has been a while and life has been crazy yet amazing as always. A quick recap of the happenings!

50K Trail run #2 in the books for this year and this one was quite an adventure. It started right at the crack of dawn and it was maybe 32 degrees and in the first few miles they have you run thought a stream (yes, it was cold!). If you were not awake I can promise you that would wake you up. It was a beautiful course that led you through 2 12.5 miles loops and one 6 mile loop that had you encountering, when all was said and done, about 9 streams and a boat load of mud. It was a blast and I met some amazing people on the journey.

The Release of ATHLETE on March 9, 2010

I am pretty sure director and producer, Dave Lam, had been waiting for this day for over 3 years. ATHLETE is an inspirational sports documentary that my twin sister Carrie and I were so privileged to be part of. It brings to life the challenges, stresses, injuries, emotions, joy and accomplishments of an everyday athlete training for endurance sports. I hope you all enjoy.

Lulu makes technical clothing for yoga, dancing, running, and most other sweaty pursuits. They create components for people to live longer, healthier, more fun lives. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their attention to detail, the quality of the clothing and the way they truly think about the person wearing their clothing or using their gear. It is simple, they care. Thanks to my amazing friend JC and a phenomenal and upbeat employee of this top-notch company, Toni, I was asked to be an ambassador (or as Toni calls me an amBADassador). It was then I began to realize how they live their manifesto and reach out to the community to help people reach their goals.

This is a great read to better understand how Lululemon is very savvy with their Social Media efforts and also very, very actively listening and take part in the conversation people are having about them. They are constantly looking for feedback on their products and they act on it!

On the horizon!

I will be heading to Houston on April 10th to be the guest speaker at the pasta dinner the night before Angie’s Half Crazy! Half Marathon and I am so EXCITED! Okay, a little nervous but what an experience. The energy Angie brings to this event is unparalleled and this year’s theme for Angie’s Half Crazy! Half Marathon is “Salute to Our Military”. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s race will benefit the Julie Michelle Koch Lyons Cancer Foundation. This AWESOME event will take place on the streets of Clear Lake/Bay Area located in Houston, Texas AND my sister Heather and her family will be there to support me with a group of her friends! Should be a blast!

Until next time…Midget OUT!
